VERONICA

VERONICA, is a Group of Individuals initiated for the cause of enlightenment, and a brand created with the idea of embracing ones TRUE image in its totality. The idea of Veronica stems from a bit of the history of Jesus Christ being crucified. On The Via Dolorosa, Jerusalem, or the Sorrowful Way, which is believed to be the path that Jesus Christ walked on his way to his crucifixion outside the walls of Jerusalem at a location known as Golgotha, Jesus encountered much hardship and struggle. A woman by the name of Bereniké, who is also known to have been healed by touching the hem of Jesus Christ’s garment according to the Apocryphal Gospel, felt a deep sadness for Jesus and offered to wipe his face with her veil. That veil was then etched into history as being the veil that did not present a spectacle of blood and sand, but instead a perfect image of Jesus Christ. It is believed that the name Veronica is a latinization of this ancient Macedonian name, Bereniké, and that it means Vera Icon, or True Image.

It has been said, according to the Gospels, that Jesus Christ was able to predict his death on several occasions. He had heightened sense of awareness in this regard. Veronica’s goal is to establish an understanding of all that which the world has to offer, even our ultimate fate. We embrace knowledge, knowing that the more we acquire the more we realize we do not know. This does not stop us from our attempt to become omniscient, to see all things, to be all-knowing. A CIRCLE and a sphere in an incomplete form represents, for Veronica, that heightened sense of awareness and search for completion, or totality.

Veronica understands that the key to strength is a sound foundation; a four-legged foundation. We use the idea of Architecture to develop a foundation for the group as well as the brand, and it should play a key role in an initiate’s development of self. Veronica recognizes a foundation when seeing a SQUARE or cube. The square, or cube, is also in an incomplete form.

The CIRCLE and SQUARE ties back into Leonardo DaVinci’s Vitruvian Man which is a depiction of man with proportions and its accompanied by notes from the Roman architect, Marcus Vitruvius Pollio’s discussion of perfect proportion in architecture and the human body. This discussion led to the famous Renaissance drawing. Vitruvius was also the one who, in 40 BCE, invented the idea that all buildings should have three attributes: firmitas, utilitas, and venustas, meaning: strength, utility, and beauty. These three attributes should be incorporated in all designs created by Veronica, that each design should show strength by proving a high quality, long lasting product. All designs should show its utility by providing functionality and aesthetics that deliver history and knowledge to those who decide to wear our Raiment. All designs will show its beauty delivering prints, patterns, and use of fabric that will be pleasing to the eye.

We strongly encourage the growth of each who believe in our mission and message, to initiate oneself into their own idea of who they can and will be. Embrace your True Image.
